Music of Memory by Nicholas Maw
Played here in much shortened form by acclaimed guitarist, Dimitris Dekavallas.
Filmed to promote a forthcoming concert at the Royal Festival Hall's Purcell room, the film, along with 2 others that I have created is being shown on the RFH / Southbank centre website and streamed in the foyer.
One of Two
Is a short film about the classic English sports car, the Morgan.
Hand made in Malvern, Worcestershire, the brand is evolving rapidly under the steady hand of Charles Morgan, great Grandson of the company's founder.
All the in-car material was shot hand-held, not that easy in an open car at 70mph +. The camera's image stabilisation system coped well as Morgans are renowned for their hard suspension. The audio was recorded direct to camera using a Rode Blimp and NTG-3 microphone.
Interview with The Archbishop of Canterbury
Is a tiny preview of a 30 minute interview shot for a Russian TV company.
Shot at Lambeth Palace, time was short and we were only allocated a 30 minute slot, with 10 min setup. The interview was shot on Canon XF305, with daylight and a single vari-colour LED. The audio was recorded direct to camera using two wired lav mics.
The program will be syndicated across domestic TV networks later in the year by the commissioners, Russian Hour TV.
Piazzolla's Tango No. 1
Played by Hayley Savage and Dimitris Dekavallas. The second of the short films on show at the RFH, this was shot in the market place in Wells Somerset on Market day. Although slightly lacking in terms of general public, the day was made more interesting by the appearance of an itinerant (and very bad) Saxophone-playing busker. It made the audio recording interesting!
Bristol Airport
Sub-titled 'Plane Spotter Heaven', Bristol airport is always a hive of activity and has a great bearing on the lives of those that live in the surrounding area.

Hayley Savage, Classical Guitarist.
The first film I made, in Spring 2010, about an accomplished guitarist and composer, Hayley Savage.
Canon were kind enough to loan me a pre-production version of the now respected, and industry standard XF305 broadcast camera.
The edit is far from perfect; trying to sync several performances to a single recording, made in limited time was not easy. I am, however please with the audio, interspersed with occasional bird song.
Re-edited, abbreviated and styled in Spring 2011 to accompany the other two classical guitar films.
